March Brain Injury Awareness Month

March Brain Injury Awareness Month

Posted by The Green Team on Mar 24th 2024

It's Brain Injury Awareness Month!!

With that being said we wanted to inform you of the benefits of CBD and Brian Health.

CBD offers neuroprotective benefits by shielding brain cells from harm, as recognized in a 1999 patent from the United States Department of Health and Human Services. It can safeguard against conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases by reducing inflammation and oxidative damage, primarily through its interaction with CB2 receptors in the brain.

Unlike THC, which activates CB1 receptors and induces psychoactive effects, CBD modulates these receptors to mitigate THC's effects, such as memory problems and anxiety. Additionally, CBD elevates levels of anandamide, a natural cannabinoid that regulates neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin.

CBD also shows promise in pain management by targeting CB2 receptors to suppress inflammation and block pain signals. It possesses antiepileptic properties, reducing neuronal excitation and enhancing the release of inhibitory neurotransmitters.

In mental health, CBD may alleviate anxiety by reducing blood flow to anxiety-associated brain regions and overall anxiety levels. It also exhibits antidepressant effects by addressing endocannabinoid system dysfunction and interacting with serotonin receptors.

These findings underscore CBD's diverse therapeutic potential in managing various medical and mental health conditions.
